Each year, Kensington High School for Creative and Performing Arts (CAPA) rewards their students with special event days called HERO and SHERO Days. This year, they decided to do something a little different… send their kids to the Rock for day full of activities!
On Thursday, 40 CAPA girls came for a day of Zumba classes, cooking lessons, guitar instruction and teaching from the Rock staff. The following day, nearly 100 boys came for boxing, grappling, kickboxing and guitar lessons. Their feedback was great! They all had a wonderful time and loved the Rock. Many said they’d like to start coming regularly for activities. We expect to see many of them soon!
Please pray for these inner-city kids. They face challenges that most of us could never relate to. As an example, we asked the CAPA boys if any knew someone who had been killed on the streets. The vast majority of them said they did! Tragically, this is real life in the ‘hood. So keep them lifted up to the Lord.
And pray for revival in Kensington! We’ve been here long enough to know that Jesus is the only hope for this neighborhood.
