For most who will read this, we’re willing to bet you’ve seldom missed a meal. But if you’re a kid from Kensington, you’ve probably missed lots of them. You see, Kensington is located in the second poorest Congressional district in the nation. Hunger is the norm for thousands in the Rock’s neighborhood. We are always heartbroken but never surprised to hear from our kids that they have no food at home. It’s just the way it is around here. Hunger is one of the reasons we call Kensington the “third-world country in our own backyard”.
As part of our mission to reach people for Christ, the Rock has established a food pantry. We provide non-perishable food to the needy both in our church and neighborhood. At the same time, we provide them with the Gospel to feed them spiritually!
Our pantry is in constant need of supply. Please consider donating any of the following items as often as you can:
Canned vegetables
Canned soups
Canned fruits
Tuna fish
Oateal
Canned/jarred sauce
Carnation milk powder
Rice
Pasta
